Surgeon Sarah Burton of the The Bowel Surgery

Miss Sarah Burton qualified as a doctor in 1995 following her medical training at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. She began her basic surgical training at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey in 1996. She began her higher surgical training in the South West Thames region, initially in general surgery and then specialising in colorectal surgery. This included a 2 year period of research into imaging in colorectal cancer. Her training included developing skills in laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques including cholecystectomies (removal of the gallbladder) and bowel resections.

In November 2006, she obtained her certificate of completion of training (CCT) and was placed on the specialist register of The Royal College of Surgeons of England. She was appointed as a General and Colorectal Consultant Surgeon with a laparoscopic interest at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey in April 2007.
